Netflix, the popular streaming service, is expanding its presence with new physical entertainment locations. The company has announced plans to open its second Netflix House at the Galleria Dallas mall in Texas, occupying space previously used by a department store. This follows the earlier announcement of a Netflix House at the King of Prussia mall in Pennsylvania.
Netflix House is designed to be an experiential entertainment venue that brings popular Netflix titles to life. The venue will offer immersive experiences related to hit shows like 'Bridgerton,' 'Money Heist,' 'Stranger Things,' 'Squid Game,' and 'Netflix Bites.' Netflix House aims to provide fans with a unique opportunity to explore their favorite stories and characters beyond the screen all year round.
Over the years, Netflix has experimented with temporary retail locations and pop-ups featuring its popular TV shows across the country. However, the company is now making a significant move into permanent brick-and-mortar locations. In October, Netflix announced plans to open two permanent Netflix House locations featuring retail and entertainment linked to its top shows by 2025.
This expansion reflects a broader trend of repurposing former anchor stores in U.S. malls. These spaces are increasingly being used for various purposes, including expanding retail, healthcare facilities, housing, and entertainment venues. Netflix House is part of this trend, offering visitors engaging activities and experiences.
Other video content providers, such as Walt Disney Co., Universal, and Nickelodeon, have also explored monetizing their programming through physical locations. Disney operates theme parks and stores selling merchandise, while Netflix has sold goods related to its franchises, including 'Stranger Things.'
Netflix House at the King of Prussia mall and Galleria Dallas highlights the company's innovative approach to combining entertainment and retail, providing fans with unforgettable experiences tied to their favorite shows.
